Gary Oldman is up for a best actor gong, and experts fancy his chances given he’s already won a Golden Globe, a Critics’ Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.

Timothee Chalamet i also in the running for Call Me By Your Name, along with Daniel Day-Lewis for Phantom Thread, Daniel Kaluuya for Get Out and Denzel Washington for Roman J Israel, Esq.

James Franco – who is facing allegations of sexual misconduct – was tipped to be nominated for The Disaster Artist, but was missing from the list.

Actresses to get nods include Margot Robbie for I, Tonya – in which she plays figure skater Tonya Harding and follows her connection to the 1994 attack on her rival Nancy Kerrigan.
